Arkansas Arts Center, MacArthur Park, Ninth and Commerce Sts.: Galleries, theater and museum school in downtown Little Rock. The permanent collection of art focuses on Old Master and modern American and European master drawings. Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun. Closed on major holidays. Arkansas Arts Center Community Gallery, Terry Mansion, Seventh and Rock Sts.: Venue for art exhibits by community arts organizations. 372-4000. 

Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, North Little Rock: Tours of the USS Razorback submarine and the Pearl Harbor tug the Hoga. 10 a.m.-dusk Sat., 1 p.m.-dusk Sun. $6 adults, $4 seniors, military, children (not recommended for children 5 and under). 371-8320. 

Arkansas National Guard Museum, 6th and Missouri, Camp Robinson: Exhibits on the history of the Guard and Camp Robinson. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mon.-Fri., some weekends. Call first: 212-5215. 

Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center, Daisy Bates and Park Sts.: Exhibits on the 1957 integration of Central and the Civil Rights movement. Hours: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Free. 374-1957. www.nps.gov/chsc 

Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave.: Interactive and documentary exhibits about policies and White House life during Clinton’s eight-year tenure in Washington, with a full-size replica of the Oval Office and an interactive Cabinet Room. EMOBA, the Museum of Black Arkansans: Exhibits on the African-American experience in Arkansas February-August and performing arts space. Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mon.-Wed., Fri. 372-0018. www.emoba.org. 

Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St.: Frontier Arkansas history museum featuring exhibits of art and artifacts from territorial times to present and five early 19th century houses. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Sat., 1-5 p.m. Sun.; tours given hourly except noon. Closed on major holidays. Tour fees: Adults $2.50, seniors $1.50, under 18 $1. MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St., MacArthur Park: Exhibits on Arkansas’s military history since the territorial period using artifacts, World War II news photos, a jeep and temporary exhibits. Hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tue. through Sat., 1-4 p.m. Sun. Free. Closed on major holidays, except Memorial and Veterans Days. 376-4602. www.arkmilitaryheritage.com

Museum of Discovery, Museum Center, 500 E. Markham St.: Hands-on technology exhibits, wet labs, robotics, Indians of Arkansas and traveling exhibits. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon. through Sat., 1-5 p.m. Sun. Admission: $8 adults, $7 children ages 3-12 and seniors 65 and up, children under 3 free, free 5-7 p.m. first Friday of every month. Old State House, 300 W. Markham St.: The 1836 state Capitol, the oldest surviving capitol building west of the Mississippi, offers permanent exhibits on Arkansas history as well as temporary exhibits. Plantation Agriculture Museum, Scott: This museum just 15 minutes outside Little Rock on U.S. Highway 165 displays old farm equipment and household items, and includes an exhibit on cotton farming. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat., 1-5 p.m. Sun. Admission: $3 adults, $2 ages 6-12. First Sunday of the month free.225-2551. 

Scott Plantation Settlement, Scott: Log cabin, one-room school, hand-hewn corn crib, wash houses, artifacts and blacksmith demonstrations illustrate life on a 19th century plantation. Open 10:30-2:30 p.m. Thu. and Sat. $3 adults, children free. 225-2551. 

Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park, U.S. Highway 165: A prehistoric Indian mound site dated to 1000 A.D. is the focus of the park. The visitors’ center’s museum features artifacts from the site and information on Arkansas prehistory and archeology. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat., noon-5 p.m. Sun. Closed major holidays.
