Plantation Agriculture Museum, Scott: This museum just 15 minutes outside Little Rock on U.S. Highway 165 displays old farm equipment and household items, and includes an exhibit on cotton farming. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat., 1-5 p.m. Sun. Admission: $3 adults, $2 ages 6-12. First Sunday of the month free.225-2551. 

Scott Plantation Settlement, Scott: Log cabin, one-room school, hand-hewn corn crib, wash houses, artifacts and blacksmith demonstrations illustrate life on a 19th century plantation. Open 10:30-2:30 p.m. Thu. and Sat. $3 adults, children free. 225-2551. 

Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park, U.S. Highway 165: A prehistoric Indian mound site dated to 1000 A.D. is the focus of the park. The visitors’ center’s museum features artifacts from the site and information on Arkansas prehistory and archeology. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat., noon-5 p.m. Sun. Closed major holidays.
