Upgrades to the concession offerings, including seated dining in the post-screening area of the concourse for travelers, are planned for Little Rock National Airport.

The restaurant would take the place of the Arkansas Gallery, which features displays from museums and galleries in Arkansas. The gallery would move to the pre-screening area of the airport, near the Customer Care Center on the second level of the terminal, where all visitors could see the exhibits.

A Starbucks kiosk is planned for the public waiting area on the first level of the terminal.

Little Rock National was one of the first airports in the nation to offer the Registered Traveler program, which allows enrolled passengers to use a speedier screening process. The RT card is good at any airport offering the RT program.

The RT program is the newest addition to a wide range of customer services at the airport — including the Customer Care Center, Airport Angels volunteers, a live music program, real-time flight tracking maps on both levels of the terminal, a mail-back program, the Airport Special Assistance Program for those flying into or out of Little Rock for medical treatment, and personal item bags.

Work is underway on extending Runway 18/36, used primarily by general aviation aircraft, 1,000 feet to the north. A project to extend the commercial service runway on the east side of the terminal by 1,050 feet has been completed.

United Express is the newest airline to serve the airport, and offers non-stop service to Denver and Washington, D.C. (Dulles). In early 2008, Continental Express will add flights to its Cleveland hub for connecting flights. An airport goal is to establish non-stop service from Little Rock to Mexico.

Two of the world’s premier aircraft manufacturers — Dassault Falcon and Hawker-Beechcraft — have large facilities at the airport. The Dassault plant is the largest operated by the company worldwide.
