The Arkansas Poor People’s Campaign demonstrated Monday at the Arkansas Justice Building as part of a national campaign and two people were arrested.

According to the release, the National Call for Moral Revival campaign continued nonviolent action in 35 capitals and Washington.  In Little Rock, participants carried signs on the lawn of the Justice Building in protest of racism and vote suppression through voter ID laws. They rallied in the Capitol rotunda before walking to the Justice Building.

The group wants restoration of the Voting Rights Act, an end to racial gerrymandering and reversal of state laws that prevent cities from raising minimum wages.

The release said two protesters from Fayetteville were arrested for sit-down protests at the  Justice Building. They were released several hours later after being charged with trespass, disorderly conduct, and obstructing governmental operations.
