The website of First Baptist Church of Springdale announces that pastor Ronnie Floyd will be nominated in June for presidency of the Southern Baptist Convention. He’s a fit.

Hunt had earlier been mentioned as a potential nominee, but Hunt said in a news release he could not get “the real peace I needed in my heart to do this.” He shared that information with Floyd in a recent phone call and also told the Springdale pastor of his conviction that Floyd was the person “God had raised up for such a time as this.”
