With the transition to Democratic control of the U.S. House of Representatives, Arkansas will likely benefit from having Democrats occupying three of its four congressional seats.

Congress.org recently released power rankings for all of the members of Congress, and it included how those rankings would shift if Democrats took over one or both chambers.

U.S. Rep. Marion Berry, currently ranked #211, would climb 138 places to #73.

U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder, currently at #358, would go up 118 places to #240.

U.S. Rep. John Boozman (the sole Republican), now at #234, would fall 157 places to #391.

U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, ranked #322, would improve 127 places to #195.

Berry’s position on the House Appropriations Committee probably accounts for his high ranking.

Control of the U.S. Senate is still undetermined as we await the outcome in Virginia. But according to the Congress.org rubric, if Democrats have the majority, Arkansas’s improvement would be less dramatic.
