Shades of Nick Wilson. An unnamed senator popped a “rule change” on the Senate at its 2007 organizational meeting today. Nobody would fess up who wrote it. But it required that, rather than seniority, that the Senate co-chair of the powerful Joint Budget committee be determined by a vote of the Senate. The effect was to allow The Brotherhood to bypass Sen. Dave Bisbee, who they’d spurned for Senate president pro tem, and put Republican Sen. Shawn Womack in his place. The debate wasn’t always pleasant we understand. The Brotherhood prevailed, 21-14, adding three new members — Crumbly, Pritchard and Thompson — to its membership.
Can you say oink, oink?
