The Forest Service, which doesn’t much like the annual Rainbow Gathering, says some 5,000 hippie types are gathered on national forest land near Fallsville, Ark., for this year’s celebration of peace and love. They’ll begin leaving July 4, putting quite a bit of traffic on rural roads in the area.

The Forest Service really breaks out the enforcement for these affairs. It has piled up 324 citations, mostly for traffic violations and drug and alcohol-related offenses.
