The Club for Growth is dead serious about making political life difficult for Mike Huckabee. It says it’s spending $85,000 on “playful” TV ads in Iowa in advance of next week’s important Republican straw poll that depict the Huckster as a tax-and-spender and government expander. Their information happens to be accurate and, from our point of view, laudable. Of course we’re not sitting — like Club for Growth pillar Jackson T. Stephens Jr. — on piles of inherited cash and resentful of government efforts to take a few pennies of it to care for sick children or improve their education. Just what was it that Huckabee did that made Stephens so mad? It would be interesting to know. Payback is certainly a bitch.

Or at least a TV ad, which is viewable at the link.
