A couple of big-name speakers in town tonight.

John Yoo, the conservative law professor who gave Bush the tools he needed to torture people, not to mention the Patriot Act and multiple other executive branch excesses, speaks at the Clinton School at 6 p.m. tonight.

No rotten tomatoes need be contemplated to attend the other event, Philander Smith College’s Bless the Mic lecture series at 7 p.m. in the college’s M.L. Harris Auditorium. Former Congressman, UN ambassador and Atlanta mayor Andrew Young is the speaker.

UPDATE: And make plans for Wednesday night, too. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is giving a free lecture at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall at UCA, the first Farris Lecture.
