Keith Emis, the young Northwest Arkansas Republican who produced a video featuring the mother of Wayne Dumond’s murder victim, now heads a “527” political organization that is pressing Huckabee for release of gubernatorial files on the Dumond case. Also sought: records on sources of Huckabee’s financial patrons to see if any have ties to people who’ve received favorable clemency consideration.

The 527s, independent organizations that can trash a political candidate to whatever extent possible so long as they don’t directly advocate a specific vote, are the story of this election. His release is on the jump.

I’ve sent him an early morning question about the source of financial support for the 527. It is supposed to be airing TV ads (see below) in South Carolina. But he dodged that question when asked about it by columnist David Sanders. And declined to answer my questions, too.
