Suppose we can arrest more lawbreakers. The county jail is full. And, Fox 16 is reporting, the cost of fixing the old jail to the point it can hold prisoners apparently is far more expensive than expected — probably too expensive to undertake.

County voters, at some point, have to bite the tax bullet. There is no other solution. Except to put a sign on your home and parked car that says “BURGLE AT WILL. Violators will not be jailed.”
