Legislators heard about state office space needs yesterday. The state’s building director said additional parking is needed for state employees more than new offices. Yes indeedy. The state needs to do all it can to make it easier to commute from Saline County in singly occupied cars on already packed, newly widened freeways.

Worse still was the suggestion of a legislator to pave over the strip of grass on the Capitol Mall for more parking spaces.
