A fine review in today’s New York Times of the latest book of poetry from C.D. Wright, the Arkansas native and MacArthur genius grant winner who teaches at Brown. She’s gone beyond her early “idiom Ozarkia” to write in “Risking, Fall, Hovering” about, among others, Katrina-wracked New Orleans and the war in Iraq, including dark musing on a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fallujah. You can’t take all of Arkansas out of the girl.
