Credit where due to North Little Rock Mayor Pat Hays. He had been a roadblock to allowing a temporary day shelter for the homeless in North Little Rock. He went along with the idea last night, under the promise that it would be temporary (that is, eventually move to Little Rock). The proposal passed the North Little Rock Council by a 5-3 vote.

Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola yesterday told me he has a site in mind and even indicated, if all goes well, it could be ready for use as early as the first of next year.
