UPDATE: The fire noted below, and some attendant water damage in the building, will cause closure of the attorney general’s office on Thursday, said spokesman Gabe Holmstrom.
The report is that the Tower Building has been emptied because of a fire alarm on an upper floor. Anybody from the attorney general’s office on a mobile device with a report?
Fire’s out, Fire Department says, but there’s still smoke to be removed.
A worker in the building on the attorney general’s staff said the smoke smelled like that from an electrical fire. He said the evacuation was orderly and workers went home. A further report indicated seeping water may have caused an electrical short that triggered the fire.
