Former UAF Chancellor John White announced his endorsement of the state lottery today. Proceeds will go to higher education. (Interesting, given the financial opposition noted earlier by one of the Walton billionaires. The Waltons purchased White’s campus during his tenure.)

White said he’d waited until he’d retired as chancellor to make an announcement because he didn’t want to appear self-interested. He noted the proposal would benefit all colleges, not just UA.
