Judging by my mail, Republicans didn’t like and Democrats loved “Boogie Man,” the special on PBS’ Frontline last night about the late Republican political strategist Lee Atwater.
It recounts the meeting between Arkansas Republican operators J.J. Vigneault and Rex Nelson in service of the candidacy of Tommy Robinson, whose potential gubernatorial challenge Atwater supposedly saw as a means to stave off Bill Clinton’s 1992 challenge of George Bush (shown in photo with Atwater) for the presidency. You know how all that turned out.
