What’ll they think of next? Lindsey Millar, who provides a welcome dose of the younger generation around here, directs me to this website, statestats, which purports to provide a state-by-state ranking of Google searches.
That is, you plug in a word, say Razorbacks. The website will tell you where Arkansas ranks against the other states in the frequency of searches for that term. You would not be surprised to learn that Arkansas ranks No. 1 in Google searches for the word “Razorback.” Some other No. 1s for Arkansas:
Huckabee
Cheese dip
Incest (barely ahead of Alaska)
We’re No. 2 on catfish.
I’m not kidding about any of this, swear.
The page also correlates word searches with other prevalent factors. The search for cheese dip, for example, seems to have a strong link to obesity.
