As promised, John Brummett today rips Gov. Mike Beebe for grandstanding by saying he’d not take his recently legislated 3.8 percent raise — a raise that now looks to be about .5 percent higher than the inflation-indexed cap permitted by the Constitution.

He suggests that Beebe emulate the well-to-do lieutenant governor and give his entire salary to charity.

Again: Right or wrong, Beebe’s political foray on the issue has given this story much longer legs.
