Unsolicited testimonial: I had a pulled pork BBQ sandwich at the Capital Hotel Bar today that lived up to the waiter’s billing as the best he’d ever eaten. It was that good. Homemade bun. Moist, rich shredded pork. A perfectly balanced sauce, tart and peppery. Crunchy slaw. I’d have bought a jar of the homemade bread-and-butter pickles served alongside.
Nearby: A table that included House staff, speaker and a couple of lobbyists, including one who represents the Capital’s owner. I didn’t get a chance to see if they got separate checks. Surely. They touted the gumbo.
