Another word on my parochial obsession. I see that the mighty Atlanta Constitution and Journal (once nearly 500,000 Sunday circulation) is cutting its newsroom staff from 323 to 230 (a smaller number than the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and compared with 500 in 2006) and reducing circulation, already well reduced from statewide, to 20 Atlanta metro-area counties.

So much for covering Dixie like the dew. Noted: The D-G still maintains statewide circulation.

UPDATE: And now, it says here, staffwide 5 percent pay cuts at the New York Times.
