They announced Truman Scholars this week — 60 college juniors chosen for awards of up to $30,000 for graduate study.

There was one winner from Arkansas. He’s Darrell Scott, a junior at Davidson College and a 2006 graduate of Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock. A sociology major, he hopes to work in educational public policy. He’s off in New York today as a finalist in another national leadership competition.

Also: a nice feature on him on the Davidson College website about his selection for a prestigious public policy summer institute this year at the University of California.
