Nanotechnology scientists from UALR and UAMS will hold a briefing on Monday to present a new discovery that they claim will help in the fight to cure cancer. Researchers will talk about their findings, which were recently published in the Journal of Biomedical Optics. Drs. Alex Biris and Vladimir Zharov believe they can now detect, track and kill cancer cells with the use of carbon nanotubes. Sorry, this is a little over my head, but it does sound promising. The briefing will be Monday at 10 a.m. You can watch a streaming webcast of the announcement here. Innovate Arkansas has more.
