David Goins of Fox 16 has the scoop on today’s Arkansas Activities Association vote on an effort to prevent scholarship-granting private schools from competing for state footballl championships.

This was about long-simmering resentment at some of the super successful schools, particularly Shiloh Christian, which couldn’t help but run up the count against some neighboring public school opposition.

The vote was 93 for to 114 against, much closer than an overwhelming executive committee recommendation against the rule change. A two-thirds vote was required for passage.
