The Republican Party of Arkansas is planning a straw poll on the U.S. Senate race in December in Hot Springs. It will raise money. It might draw a little attention. If the number of candidates holds steady, just votes by kith and kin should put together a healthy kitty. (Get a Duggar in there and the sky’s the limit.)

Candidates must respond by tomorrow.

This is the work, by the way, of Chase Dugger, the party’s political director, who I told you over the weekend had been picked to be the party’s new executive director. An official news release on that was issued today. Said a release:

“2010 is going to be a great year for the Republican Party” said Dugger.  “We are going to pick up seats at the local, state, and national level.  I am excited about being a part of that and look forward to seeing the Party grow in Arkansas.”
