We’ve heard reports of some in Faulkner County receiving phone calls last night in behalf of Sen. Blanche Lincoln.  The caller, a person not a robot, assured the resident that Lincoln was looking out for their interests in the health care debate and would not vote to support “government-run health care.”  The conversation ended rather abruptly when one recipient of the call said he favored  a government plan.

Lincoln’s office in D.C. says they don’t know anything about the calls.  Steve Patterson, campaign manager for Lincoln, says the calls did not come from the campaign.  Who were these masked men?  Anybody else get a call? Is this the shape of independent expenditures for the election season to come? If so, it’s going to be a loooong, frustrating year.
