The Freethinkers’ display went up on Wednesday

No, of course the Arkansas legislature doesn’t get it. Twitter report from Rep. Jonathan Dismang:

AR Legislative Council voted in favor of pubically zopposing the “Freethinkers” display on the Capitol Lawn. Motion made by Rep. Lowery. [Editor’s note: Sic all, including that ‘pubically.’ You know how Blackberries are.]

PS — When our Christmas lights bus tour wound through the Capitol grounds around 9 p.m. last night, a number of people surrounded the Freethinkers display and appeared to be intently reading the panels.

Rita Sklar of the ACLU comments: “The legislative council might as well support a resolution repealing the First Amendment.”

To which I say: Don’t tempt them.
