Word comes that a man familiar to political insiders is in a coma in Florida following a Christmas Day aneurysm. He is Henry Woods, 57, who for 25 years served as an aide to Arkansas members of congress — Bill Alexander, David Pryor, Dale Bumpers and Blanche Lincoln.

He’s been retired in Key West, but continuing work as a political consultant, teaching and volunteering in civic causes. A student leadership award at the University of Arkansas is named in Woods’ honor. He ran unsuccessfully for county election supervisor in Florida last year.
