Josh Marshall begins the analysis of what happens on health care if the Republican wins the special election today.

He argues that the House MUST act, adopt the Senate bill and work for changes in reconciliation. There will still be a 2010 electoral downside to that, but nothing like the downside to being seen as utterly unable to deliver on anything.

SIDE NOTE: If Brown succeeds it will be in part because he’s viewed as a moderate by many voters. Not exactly, though he is pro-choice and he did get naked for a magazine photo once. Any Arkansas Republicans willing to match him on those two fronts?
