Stephens Media coverage of Sarah Palin’s visit includes Democratic Party spokesman Gabe Holmstrom’s poke at Palin for quitting her job as governor to be a highly paid celebrity.
Arkansas Republican Chairman Doyle Webb’s non-sequitur response:
Webb said he believes Palin “has a greater calling than serving the people of Alaska: She has a call to serve the people of the nation, and she’s serving it well.”
Webb added, “I would remind Gabe that Gov. Clinton did resign as governor of Arkansas. He may have forgotten that.”
So. Resigning to become president of the U.S. is equivalent to quitting your job to hit the rubber chicken circuit to give overpriced, cliche-filled speeches. Thanks for that insight, Doyle. Still waiting for a callback on your recent pay bump.
