Truman Arnold, the Texarkana, Texas, petroluem marketer who’s long been a player in Arkansas politics and government, has made a big gift on the Texas side of Stateline.
He and his wife Anita Monday announced a $10 million gift to the Texas A&M branch in Texarkana to underwrite scholarships. It was the school’s largest contribution ever. It’s the latest of several gifts the Arnolds have made the school, about to move to a new campus.
Note the school promises the lowest tuition of any college in Texas or Arkansas.
