Mike Huckabee, the Florida TV show host, yesterday announced that he’d endorsed Tim Griffin for 2nd District Congress after endorsing Griffin’s unsuccessful GOP primary opponent Scott Wallace. No surprise. It would be a surprise if Huckabee endorsed a Democrat over a Republican.

But it’s a good opportunity to remember one of the shining moments of Huckabee’s tenure as governor, when he backed legislation sponsored by Joyce Ellliott to give Arkansas college scholarship help to, well, illegal immigrants.

Ellliott is the Democratic nominee for the seat Griffin is seeking. I’m not expecting Griffin to be infected by Huckabee’s humanity on this particular issue.
