Audubon Arkansas and the Sierra Club will be in court Wednesday morning before federal Judge Bill Wilson seeking a temporary restraining order to stop construction of American Electric Power’s coal-fired Turk generating station in Hempstead County. The issue here is over a federal water permit and the Corps of Engineers will be defending. (Something they don’t do particularly well when it comes to environmental issues.) Judge Wilson, for example, called down the inadequate environmental study for the proposed taxpayer-subsidized shopping center in North Little Rock’s Dark Hollow.
