The Central Arkansas Library System celebrated its centennial Saturday night with fireworks and a party in the newly completed fifth floor reading room at the downtown library.

Also unveiled were the winners in a popular vote for favorite authors to be displayed on the walls of the reading room, as local favorite authors were enshrined in the parapet of the library when it opened in 1995.
