The athletic department at the University of Arkansas will seek approval from the board of trustees to move forward with plans to build a new football center. From a UA release:

The design and cost estimates of the entire project, including re-location of the practice fields, construction of a new parking deck below the practice fields and other affiliated projects, are still being finalized. The proposed financing plan would provide up to $35 million in funding for the project. As part of the plan, a request has been made for approval to issue up to $25 million in bonds. This step of the process is to request approval of a resolution expressing the Board of Trustees intent to issue bonds. Approval for the actual issue of bonds will be made at a later time. Bonds have been used previously in the financing of major athletic facility projects including the construction and renovations of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, Bud Walton Arena, Bogle Park and Baum Stadium. The request for bond financing for the football center is part of an overall bond proposal being presented by the University at the next scheduled board meeting on Friday, January 28 in Little Rock.
