A bipartisan group of mayors in border cities from Texas to California say Mike Huckabee is wrong about border security and that he’s exaggerated the security threat in American cities from Mexican gangs. Do tell. Mike Huckabee exaggerate. Everything in which Huck is involved, from ice storms to elections, is the beginning of history, with his own experience the worst or best depending on his rhetorical needs. It gets him in trouble and often puts him on the wrong side of history, as this week in his defense of Hosni Mubarak.
And his recent jaunt to Israel — with its pandering to Israeli conservatives and dismissal of Palestinians — is finally creating some blowback. From a Palestinian blog:
Huckabee has said that the Palestinian “Muslims” and the Palestinian “Arabs” should relocate to Arab countries and create their state there, arguing that Israel shouldn’t have to surrender any lands to “Muslims.”
Of course, Huckabee, who claims to be a Christian, is really a southern racist and bigot who hates Christians. Under Huckabees plans, Christian Arabs would be expelled from Bethlehem, Nazareth and all the places where Jesus lived and walked according to the Christian Bible. But Huckabee doesn’t care because Christian Arabs are few and far between and donate little money to political campaigns.
Here’s another writer who notes Huckabee’s loud cry for full-throated democracy in the U.S. while supporting dictatorial stability in Egypt.
