A friend in Hot Springs, generally reliable, says Hot Springs Convention Center box office manager Brian Leonard’s coonhound, Elvis, won best of breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York. That means Elvis will be strutting his stuff against other breed champions in tonight’s telecast of the big show (starts at 7 on USA Network).

No picture available of Elvis, but the Wikipedia shot here shows a typical black-and-tan coonhound.

As usual, I’ll be focusing on smush-face dogs, generally badly discriminated against in favor of poodles and such.

UPDATE: A reader provides a link to a story about Elvis, who hails, more specifically, from Pearcy and is owned by Steve and Ray Ann Lowthian. He’s handled by Leonard.
