Did I read the article in the Democrat-Gazette this morning correctly? Did I read that truckers will get a honking big rig sales tax reduction EVEN IF voters don’t approve a nickel increase in the tax on diesel for a highway bond program?

Sounds about right. The truckers have NEVER paid their fair share for the enormous damage they cause to the interstates. No reason to think they’d do so now. But this would be the best ever. They’d get a tax break for not standing in the way of a modest fuel tax increase whether it passes or not.
