The U.S. Forest Service today provided an update on repair and future plans for the Albert Pike Recreation Area near Langley, where flash flooding of the Little Missouri River killed 20 people last June.
For the time being, there are no plans to reopen paved loops in the park. Parking is limited and there are no restroom facilities. Hazards remain as cleanup continues, the Forest Service said.

“In light of last June’s tragedy, we must review alternatives for future public uses and facilities at Albert Pike Recreation Area,” said Forest Supervisor Norman Wagoner. “We will offer a variety of opportunities for interested citizens to be engaged in the process.”
