The University of Arkansas System has announced a series of public forums April 26-28 on the search for a new president. Current president B. Alan Sugg is retiring when a successor is chosen.

As we’ve detailed previously, the search so far has mostly been conducted privately. But new UA Board Chairman Carl Johnson has promised to bring more sunshine to the effort. He’s said he believed candidates for the job should be willing to make open applications to lead UA. Johnson said he hoped the forums will produce suggestions of potential candidates and ideas about qualities sought in the president.
