Thanks to all for the support this morning on my stint with Rosi Smith of Children’s Hospital raising money for KUAR/KLRE.

At last report:

* Morning contributions topped $19,000, best show stint ever.

* There were 36 responses to the Arkansas Blog matching pledge of $10.

* There was 1 — ONE — response to the Arkansas Blog $15 matching pledge for Republican pledges. That came with an asterisk, for “Rockefeller Republican” Ben Mays of Clinton, a state Board of Education member also known as owner of Maxwell Sniffingwell.

* State Rep. Kathy Webb made a late challenge to House Republicans to match another $10, meaning $25 additional would have been contributed by the Blog and Webb for any House Republican who contributed to public radio. No takers at last report. They probably were all listening to Fox or Glenn Beck. (Webb, by the way, sponsored successful legislation, HB 1254 (now Act 205) to outlaw use of bogus academic credentials for state employment or college admission, a practice highlighted by Ben Mays’ purchase of a fake doctorate for his bulldog, the aforementioned Maxwell Sniffingwell. Coincidentally, another Clinton resident, a local Republican official, had used a doctorate from the same institution as a resume builder last year.)

UPDATE: One Republican legislator has answered the call, belatedly.
