News on the selection of a new director of the head of the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau.

You may recall a search committee came up with two names — candidates from the tourism industry in Wichita (John Rolfe) and Memphis (John Oros, backed strongly by owners of the Peabody Hotel, which also operates in Memphis). But, under encouragement from Mayor Mark Stodola, the finalist list has been expanded to four.

Additional finalists will be former City Director Michael Keck and Gretchen Hall. Hall is the interim co-CEO of the bureau.

The politics of this are too complicated for me to yet understand. Interviews of the finalists will be held next week.
