* UPDATE: CALL FOR BLANCHE LINCOLN IN THE LOBBY: Former Sen. Blanche Lincoln is heading to the K Street lobbying ranks. Oh, sorry. Consulting ranks. Can’t lobby just yet, I don’t think. Ag committee staff director Robert Holifield also will be joining her at Alston & Bird. It’s a law firm. Lincoln is not a lawyer. But she presumably can serve other useful purposes with former congressional contacts. Ka-ching!

* LR SUPERINTENDENT MEETS THE PRESS: Morris Holmes, newly chosen as the permanent Little Rock School superintendent, met reporters today and sounds like he struck all the right notes. Words and deeds.

* MAKE ‘EM LAUGH; BUT NOT AT YOU: An AWFUL lot of commentary on Mike Huckabee’s Ted Nugent lead-in to his televised presidential departure. Does he listen to lyrics (about purring pussies) when plucking that bass? Stephen Colbert, once a Huckabee enabler, certainly noticed. And, though it’s been mentioned already, I think a full video of Jon Stewart comparing the pussy purring on Huckabee’s show with Fox’s faux outrage over a rapper is worth another run here tonight.
