* ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT ASSAULT: Mike Huckabee voiced no arrest calls for those who tossed glitter on Newt Gingrich, but claims (erroneously) that assault charges are in order for those who flung glitter at Tim Pawlenty. And what about tickertape parades?

* FIRST THINGS FIRST: Republicans in the Minnesota legislature are prepared to shut down government rather than raise taxes to meet a government deficit. But, you guessed it, they intend to keep getting THEIR paychecks, though state workers won’t.
