Former President Bill Clinton told it straight to a student group:

Former President Bill Clinton Wednesday compared GOP efforts to limit same-day voter registration and block some convicted felons from voting to Jim Crow laws and poll taxes.

In a speech to liberal youth activists Wednesday, the former president called out proposals in battleground states like Florida and Ohio that could limit the voter rolls.

Republicans hate early voting. They like onerous ID requirements. They hate voter drives. They don’t want people who’ve paid the price for crimes and completed probation to vote. The fewer voters the better for the Republicans, who have made a fine science of targeting preferred voters and getting them out with catch-phrase sloganeering.

These are voter deterrents. They don’t address the two places vote fraud can happen in some numbers — absentee ballots and in the counting (Florida, for example).
