The murder trial of Abdulhakim Muhammad is underway in Circuit Judge Herb Wright’s court. He’s repeated his desire to fire his lawyers, but the judge won’t allow it.

We’ll be checking in periodically. Muhammad killed one soldier and wounded another outside a west Little Rock military station. He’s repeatedly taken responsibility for the crime and said it was a political act in retaliation for U.S. actions in the Middle East. His attorneys have talked about raising an insanity defense.

UPDATE: David Goins of Fox 16 reports six jurors were seated today.
