Little Rock police have identified those involved in an officer’s shooting of a man who reportedly pointed a gun at him about 2 a.m. Saturday near Markham and Scott Streets. The incident grew out of stepped-up police efforts to disburse crowds of youths that have been gathering in the area of River Market clubs.

The man shot was Jocobe Malone, 18. Officer Robbie Hinman shot him three times after he reportedly turned toward Hinman with a handgun. Malone had run from the crowd following a shooting moments before.
