I interrupt my vacation to bring you this news from a check of e-mail:

Former Times associate editor Warwick Sabin, now publisher of the Oxford American, tells me he’ll be running for state House in 2012, the District 33 seat now held by term-limited Rep. Kathy Webb. I was told recently that this district, if anything, will be friendlier to progressive candidates than it already was as a result of redistricting.

I’m thinking of doing a Rick Perry: Drawing up a secession platform for the Free State of Hillcrest.

Now back to my regularly scheduled program. I can see Guernsey in the misty distance. We’ll soon be docking at the Channel Island. Temperature is in the 60s, breezy. It might make 70 today.

UPDATE: Until he gets an official website online, Sabin has set up a Facebook page for his campaign.
