State Rep. Greg Leding, the Fayetteville Democrat, has sent an e-mail to friends urging careful inspection of pleas for money to PACs established to elect people to the Arkansas legislature. He wrote:

The House Republican Caucus has formed a fundraising PAC called the House Leadership PAC. Given that Republicans remain the minority party in Arkansas, the name is more than a little misleading, whatever their goals for 2012 might be.

House Republicans have sent fundraising letters using the House Leadership PAC name to Democrats all across the state. While the letters include the names of House Republicans, we’ve already received reports of Democrats who have nearly made the mistake of contributing to the organization, believing that their contributions will go to benefit House Democrats.

House Leadership PAC is in no way associated with House Democrats.

We want to make sure Arkansas Democrats avoid the mistake of contributing to this organization.
