There may be others to come on the Democratic side, but a solid challenger has announced in Jonesboro to oppose Tea Party Republican Rep. Jon Hubbard, one of the most extreme members (for example) of a generally extremist GOP delegation, for re-election next year. He’s Harold Copenhaver, a farmer, insurance man, trio-singing member of First Baptist Church, son of a long-time ASU dean, Rotarian and otherwise solid citizen. His news release says:

I have the time and energy to be a common sense voice for Jonesboro in the state legislature. I will be a positive representative who will place what’s best for our community over partisan bickering. We can’t afford to be represented by a constant NO Vote in Little Rock. I will be a public servant who doesn’t focus on party lines and will vote for what is best for Jonesboro.

Common sense? Will that play in 2012?
